Pre-publication checklist

Five review passes to catch errors before delivery.

Practical guideEnglish

Before you begin

  • Use the final file and approved brief, not an older preview.
  • Assign one person responsibility for final approval.

Step by step

  1. 01

Passes 1 and 2: meaning and picture

Watch the complete story once. Then check cuts, faces, products, colours and confidential information visible on screen.

  2. 02

Passes 3 and 4: text and sound

Review names, figures, accents and translations without sound. Then listen to speech and music without focusing on the picture: discontinuities become easier to notice.

  3. 03

    Pass 5: destination

Test the correct variant on a phone or intended display. Check areas covered by controls, the end of the file and the audience’s next action.

Practical example

Practical example

Approval: “v03 EN 9:16 approved by Camille on 11 September. The French version still needs review.” Partial approval should remain explicit.

Review checklist

  • Rights for footage, voices, music and people have been checked.
  • Blocking corrections are resolved for every variant.
  • Approval identifies a specific file and version.

Troubleshooting

Team feedback conflicts

Return to the brief and distinguish factual errors, brand constraints and personal preferences. The designated reviewer makes the decision.

An error is found after export

Correct the source project, create a new version and replace affected deliverables. Do not keep two different files with the same version number.
